Emeritus Universal Blue

Hey @uBlue Members ,

I formally request to be moved to Emeritus status in the Universal Blue organization.

I feel that my contributions to Universal Blue would be better served by focusing my energy completely on Bazzite since it is the project I am most passionate about and what brought me here in the first place.

Here are my primary reasons for making this decision:

  1. The ISO work I was originally doing has evolved and has a very bright future ahead. I have not been super involved in the tech side of it for quite a while. It has grown beyond my current skill set.
  2. Universal Blue has a stronger focus on downstream experiences and I would like to have a stronger focus on Bazzite when I contribute
  3. Between family, obligations upstream (the Fedora Podcast), Universal Blue, and my health, I need to take some time to assess how I can contribute in the most effective way possible
  4. Because of #3, my current contributions to the project have significantly slowed down. I think relieving some pressure will make me feel better about contributing again
What does this look like?

  1. Remove me from admin of the Universal Blue Discord
  2. Remove me from the Universal Blue organization in GitHub
  3. Move me to the Bazzite Contributor role (I don't think what I currently contribute lends to a maintainer role, I'll let Kyle make a decision he feels is appropriate)
  4. Provide access to the Bazzite Repo so I can still provide contributions there
  5. Move myself to Emeritus on any Universal Blue socials or websites
What I wouldn't want to see change:
  1. Conference talks or other presentation-like activities for Bazzite
  2. Helping out upstream in Fedora
  3. Participate in discussions about Universal Blue when it affects Bazzite
  4. Opening issues related to Bazzite in relevant Ublue repositories where it makes sense
  5. Help provide support for Bazzite or general Linux inquiries in Discord when needed
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to DM me.

Thanks,

Noel
