as someone quite young i think my longest owned pair of clothing is maybe old navy sweatpants from middle school, before i needed long inseams (they now barely cover my knees). keep em around to wear around the house otherwise I have a pair of baggy doible knee cords that are 8 inches too big in the waist, but can still be styled good, some t shirts and a hat i got as a present, and then my dads suede chore coat. i keep them around bc i have a very small wardrobe anyway, plus the cords are covered in so many repairs and patches i’ve decided to wear them until they shit the bed

Unquestionably it is this wrangler denim shirt. I wish I could tell you the year that I bought it. What I can say is it was in high school, so it would have been no later than 1996. I have worn it through multiple style changes, and it has come in and out of use over the years. But I have always held on to it. It is soft as a pair of pajamas, and honestly falling apart. But I love it dearly..

These vintage 517s were old when I thrifted em in highschool, wore em throughout my time there, then as work pants when I did farm work, and now I still wear em. They’re easily the comfiest pair of pants I own.

A hoodie that I bought in 2015 that has by now faded from black to charcoal and has fraying sleeves but is my ultimate go-to for throwing something over when lounging around the house because its even oversized enough to tuck my knees in and squat in like a lil tent on the sofa. I love it dearly, but its my ultimate leisurewear item of clothing.

I am the recipient of all my dad's worn-out dress shirts, which are too big on me, so I wear them casually and as sleep shirts. They're around 40 years old now and all of them are incredibly soft and comfortable by the time they get to me. My favorite, a solid lavender button-down, has developed a hole under the back yoke so I've put it away until I find suitable material for patching it, but it's not even the oldest in the pile. That award goes go an Ike Bahar shirt with french cuffs and a delicate red and blue stripe that he got in college. Some of these shirts have been mine rather than his for....idk 10-12 years, and they lived a long life in his wardrobe before that. I have older garments in my closet (50s army pants) and things I acquired when I was younger that I still wear (my red high-top converse from....idk maybe 2013?), but the combo of mine for a long time + my dad's for a long time + consistently worn for years makes those shirts the winner for me

If it fit at all I'd wear the heck out of it Maybe I'll see if a belt maker in town could incorporate it into a new belt somehow?
