at what point is a wrong waist size unwearable
when is too big in the waist too big in the waist for yall?
i currently don’t own a single pair of pants that fit me in the waist (33 or 34), with the 3 pants in my current rotation being 3-4 inches too big in the waist, and the rest of my pants measuring from 38 inches too 42. was wondering when yall just give up on pants and sell them. same for jackets and shirts ig too

For me it’s like between 1 and 2in measured across. I’m a 32 and I can wear some 34 pants with annoyance, anything bigger is right out.
any reason in particular?
there’s no hard limit
personal preference
I tend to just cinch with a belt and call it a day, but I guess if there super big it does make me less likely to tuck into them
yeah! i was asking ppls personal preference i thought it would be interesting to see people’s point of view :)
Depends on the item too, for me. I have some jeans that are easily 3-4 sizes too big so they're just baggy low rise jeans now
I tailor all my pants if they can’t stay up without a belt
I find it really uncomfortable otherwise
I'd say about 2 inches for me. 1 inch is OK with a belt, but at 2" fastening the belt will make the waistband bunch and gather, which looks and feels bad.
depends on what it is. Like for me seersucker that's 3-4 inches too big is a lot more comfy than a pair of jeans or carpenter pants that's only a little big. Maybe try something you like that actually fits (keeping vanity sizing in mind, don't just go off the printed size) then decide if you actually want to keep on doing oversized?
yep i was talking about actual size not vanity size. they all don’t fit because i lost weight, but i still haven’t found any pants (granted im not exactly looking for pants rn) that both fit me in the thigh when the waist does fit
