4k 60hz feels like 30hz on Laptop Running GTX 1050ti
Basically the title. I am running a laptop with hybrid graphics and a 1050ti in it hooked to a 4k 60hz TV. The display isn't as smooth as say 1080p 60hz when using the desktop. I haven't tested much games but playing on Retroarch has a weird effect with the FPS capping to 15 or some other number.
Switching to 1080p 60hz works just fine I should add and I am able to upscale games to 4k in PCSX2 so I don't think hardware is necessarily an issue when it comes to low end gaming.
Not sure if this is an overall issue with NVIDIA being absolute trash on KDE + Wayland with the solution being to switch to Xorg or if there are other solutions like changing kernel parameters in GRUB. Thanks!
P.S happy to do further testing with games or drivers if required
