Stalker 2 won't launch

Logfile: https://0x0.st/8vlA.log Behaviour is that it opens the game window to a blackscreen, then fails to a stalker 2 error message without any stack trace. The game has recently updated, and I think the Heroic launcher as well in the last days. Running it on flatpak. If you have any idea, help would be appreciated! Flatpak nvidia platform version matches the driver version, in the second before it crashes mangohud sees the gpu.

/run/user/1000/doc/bf9e4856/STALKER2
You've installed the game in a directory Heroic doesn't have access to. Move the game to either ~/Games/Heroic/ or any subfolder of /run/media/, /mnt/, or /media/, then uninstall & import it in Heroic
"useSteamRuntime": true,
Disable this, then tick & un-tick the "Disable umu" option in the game settings

The game is installed in /home/.../games/... I don't know why it patched to that folder. After using the "change install path" option provided by heroic and pointing it to the correct folder, I am still getting that error. logfile still contains

What’s the actual path of the game?

/home/kellanved/games/STALKER2/ It has access to it. It was running fine before today, not a first install. Moving it to ~/Heroic/games and let's see if that's it

Default permissions are ~/Games/Heroic

yeah that one. its default directory It looks like it is unable to finish the move. stuck trying to move a third party dll. The source folder for it looks to be /run/user/1000/doc/bf9e4856/STALKER2 and not the original ~/games/STALKER2. The source folder is empty, the original install dir not touched. That folder looked like the result of it trying to patch the game in /run/ instead of the original directory. Any way to explicitly prevent this kind of situation when it tries to patch? If I reinstall, will it maintain settings and saves?

Telling Heroic to change the install path with the game being in this state might not have been the best idea. I'm not sure how Flatpak permissions handle moving files from a virtual directory to the actual filesystem
If I reinstall, will it maintain settings and saves?
Yes. For settings you have a checkbox in the uninstall dialog to remove them (so just don't check that), saves are stored in the Wineprefix

Thanks, will try to do that. another 140 gb download 😭 . Once it eventually finishes and if it works I'll mark this as resolved. To me it looks like patching broke it.
