Help my boot laces are sooooooo long
Hello, I got these boots they came with laces that are like unworkably long, I lace them up to the top and I still have to double knot them to get them to like not constantly drag on the ground. These are the laces that came with the boot so I assume they’re not just improperly sized, do I just snip them down to size with some scissors or is there some secret arcane technique for lacing or tying or something that I am lacking. These laces are this quite nice like unfinished leather that I don’t want to ruin unnecessarily.

I’ve got a pair of boots with a similar issue, what I’ve found works well is crossing the laces, wrapping them around the top of the boot and then tying them as normal

I suppose if they’re this long out of the box then that’s like literally the intended way to wear them

ya i love a good lace wrap. u could definitely cut em down to size if u don't wanna wrap em tho, pretty normal afaik to do that

You can tie em, see how much excess there is and the cut them if its still absurd

I did the wrap around wearing em today and really like the additional support around the ankles it gives me so I'm a convert now
