X and Y Stepper Motor issue?

Hello brains trust. I have just finished upgrading my V Core 3.1 to a toolhead setup - also changing out my Orbiter to a Rapido setup and installed the Orbiter filament detection. There was no wiring changes at all for the stepper motors and the printer was functioning well prior tot he upgrade. I printed off the PET CF components for the toolhead V1 prior to the upgrade. I have had an amount of issues, but getting them sorted bit by bit. One that I ahve yet to fix is the movement now of the X/Y motors, causing a lot of vibration and carry on with the printhead. I thought maybe I have tightened the belts too much, so I loosened them and also checked all bearings etc (pulling the corners down, checked for smooth rolling and cleaned them all up - then re-built the corners). I am comfortable with that part and have done it a number of times when I upgraded bearings and belts some time ago. I am lost as to what to look for. Assuming if it was a programming issue, it would also be an issue on the Z Axis, but the bed moves up and down OK. Added a quick video to show the issue. I initially move the head around to show it moves without impedement or nothing at all. Nice and free moving. However, under control from RatOS for movement, it has the recorded issue. The fan comes on right at the end as I hit the emergency stop to prevent any further possible damage. Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Oh, one other thing that may or may not be relevant. I re-set up the printer with the RatOS setup wizard in the configurator - everything as per default settings as far as motors go

it moving diagonally like that means that one of the steppers isn't moving properly. Have you checked the gear attached to the stepper to make sure the grub screw is tight and holding the gear to the stepper shaft correctly?

Yes, when I pulled the rear corners apart, I checked the grub screws were tight on the flat part of the shaft so they cannot slip.

ok. I would see which stepper is not moving correctly during the X homing, and try swapping the driver. If that doesn't work, try swapping the stepper motor itself you are trying to see if the issue follows a particular piece of hardware

Thanks, I'll try that. I ahve steppers from previous issues years ago

Problem solved. In being a bit ocd with the wiring, I had everything cable tied nicely. In doing the upgrade with the canbus, there was a lot of wiring removed and cable ties cut. Unfortunately, I snipped a wire from the LH motor which caused the issue. I swapped out drivers with a spare, same with motor and problem persisted. Checked the connectors and all was fine, then was about to do continuity test of the wires and saw a black wire sitting by itself having been cut. Soldered back together and tidied up again and re-tested. All fine now. A bit of embarrassment being an electrician myself and a bit ocd with stuff, but at least it has been found.
