Under extrusion with default settings
I'm having soe issues with my freshly rebuilt VC3 Hybrid running on non hybrid mode. I have just re installed RatOS and updated to RC3. I have done the wizard to set it up but right now it seems to be under extruding.
I have an orbiter 2.
Does anyone know why this may be happening? I haven't touched my slicer settings

double check nozzle size?
Correct in slicer. where do I check it in printer config files?

Oh found it. Its correct

Check the nozzle itself if you swapped it. Theres been a spate of people doing that with kinda similar visual artifacts
Havent touched it in years, so still 0.4
Previously before I rebuilt this printer last week it was printing fine with same toolhead
same slicer, same toolhead.
Changes are rebuilt printer and new install of RatOS
Gotcha. Not sure what else I'd try other than running some calibration prints
Here is the test file I was printing
I still have my old install on a SD card, so have been comparing the configs and they seem to be the same for extruder settings
tried another filament?
Not yet. Can try that, but this black PLA is usually my go to when testing
yeah, no worries. Just brainstorming as I'm not great with print quality issues
I appreciate you stepping in to try and help here @TheTik 🙂
Does your first layer look okay?
nah it looks under extruded 😦 Well the permiter does anyway. the inner part doesnt look too bad
@MFBS may be able to help out here
I like the suggestion of trying with other filament just to rule that out.
I'll give it a go and put this one in the dryer
Still seems to be doing it
This was a brand new role I just opened
Didn't seem to have moisture when test extruding it

The outer perimeter does not seem to want to connect to the inner one
Definitely looks like under extrusion
And there are a bunch of holes on the top layer
OrcaSlicer?
SuperSlicer
Has it got calibration tests built in?
Yeah
I'll run them now
strange something has changed.
yeah really odd. I would test ASA which is what I mostly print with, but its not enclosed yet so I cant
Found one issue. I thought the beacon macro also did input shaper. I was wrong. After doing that, it's looking a lot better
Excellent. I am out of Auckland this week but when I get back I am gointg to relocoate the thermister in the Rapido Ace hot end. It currently sits right against the ceramic heater which is dumb.
