Bear in mind that Google also tailors the results based on other factors such as your location, search history etc. In my case, for the same search term, MDN comes before w3schools.

Id be curious if you and OP are using the same browser too! I wonder if it differs whether youre using FF or chrome. I would assume FF could boost MDN listing's
