I changed some settings and now I have my frames dropping every 1-2 seconds.
I changed some settings to optimise FPS and now for some reason, every 1-2 seconds my frames drop done to around 50-60 and then go back up again to 140 (which I have capped it to) but the same happens when the FPS is not capped either. Does anyone know why this is happening?

did u have them before or it is right after you applied your optimizations
Revert the settings you changed ?
a bit before but now its every second
i tried reverting the changes that i thought would have an impact i.e. changing the file properties but kept the windows settings as they were.
for some reason, this problem only happens when i have 2560x1440p resolution. when i change it to 1280x960, it stops for the most part but i have been trying to transition from 4:3 to 16:9 aspect ratio since it is less enjoyable when the game is pixelated
idk look into your event viewer then
probably cuz u have a realtek ethernet controller
What's that
network card
So what should I do to fix the issue
u can see if the driver crashes (=causes the lag spikes) in the event viewer
Is it pre installed for windows (I don't have access to my computer rn)
so open your event viewer by looking it in your windows search bar
double clique on Windows Logs -> System
look for errors
yes
Ok I will try when I have access
Thanks

look for something like this
where is windows logs?
when i search it up on installed apps it doesnt come up
you have to open the event viewer first
either you look it up in your windows search bar or you do windows + X -> Event Viewer
@swift update ur network card driver
find the vid/dev in device manager then google the new drivers
right click properties and copypasta this
