Plasma hangs system when modifying network settings

as the title says for some reason when i try connect to a different network ( i was trying to connect to my phones hotspot to troubleshoot some connection issues with lutris and ubi)
plasma hangs the system and i have to issue the sysrq + e command to terminate all process
