capacitors basic doubt
in this parallel plate capacitor, won't the field be confined in the space bw the plates. why would any field exist outside then? the soln does it by considering the system to be like a dipole. fringing effects can be neglected right?

which means fringing cant be neglected?
plus, if we had an ideal capacitor the ans would've been zero, right?
