Installation issue/partitions/grub assistance. Please help me
I originally partitioned my hard drive into 2, split 500gb/500, not accurate but very close. I installed bazzite unto a flash drive and decided to go boot it from the flashdrive for installation. From there I was met with the issue of me not having enough free space on the drive. Long story short I think I may have shrunk either my main partition or the empty partition to use the shrunk space for installation. I no longer see the partition in the list, nor did the install go successfully because after booting , I was confronted with a no kernel error. Now what can I do from here?

It looks like there is already a fully installed bazzite there. What's the kernel error you get when trying to boot into that? You could use the lowest 3 partitions and try again, but chances are pretty high, you'll run into the exact same error.
When I try booting into the bazzite partition, it sends me straight to grub 2.0 command line
I'm unsure what to do after that
That shouldn't happen of course. If it has a bad shim in there somewhere it's secure boot related. https://docs.bazzite.gg/General/Installation_Guide/secure_boot/

I turned off secure boot from the bios recently, I'll check it out and see though
I shrank my 512 gb partition to around 10 gbs, what happens to the rest of storage?
Can't tell from the screenshot, but most likely most of it is in the bazzite-fedora-deck partition
That's the main bazzite partition from the install
the ext4 is the 1gb is the /boot partition and the efi should be 300mb
Ok thank you, I was afraid I deleted it or merged it
Ok so then it's installed then, I assumed that re installing it might download the kernel Incase it was missed

If you made it through the install process until it asked you to reboot, everything should be there
There are 2 partitions to boot into, I'm gonna take a guess that one is the ex4? (I'm not very tech savvy bare with me)
It did but when I rebooted, it brought me to the kernel error thing, I forgot what the message said. Now it's not even allowing me to get that error, it just sends me straight to grub
First time I see 3 fedora entries, but any of the fedora options should be good
Can you show me the grub?
My camera is so ass
:/ Yeah, can't make out the error. Does the same thing happen with the other boot options?
One of the entries should be just named Samsung-etc etc etc, that's where I booted my windows 11 from, now it seems fedora replaced it, which probably means I accidentally installed bazzite on it 😦 idk
Nah, top one is windows boot manager, so windows should be fine. Partitions for windows look fine too
idk how to get back into windows though
There's one boot option where I get a different error but I'll show you
The other two labeled fedora boot me straight to grub, but when I boot from that partition, it gives me that blue screen boot menu
That does looks like grub emergency mode, but it's hard to make out. Try to choose the top option to boot into windows, to confirm that that still works.
Windows boot manager?
yes
Hey can I call you? Idk if you're comfortable with that , not much of a typer
I prefer not to tbh
No problem
Gnna try booting into the first opt
I was like, oh shit it works, then I went into advanced options and tried to continue into windows 11 n got sent to back to grub after recording
Damn. I've never needed to repair windows 11, so I can't be of much assistance on that 😦
Oh no I see what happened, it booted me into one of my fedora options since it couldn't get through to windows
But I restarted and tried it again, did a scan on the drive and it repaired itself
Thanks for that
Only issue is it seems like my pin has been erased, I have to set it back again, idk what happened there but I'll do it
Good. Thought I saw all the needed partitions. Restarting the bazzite install does seem like the best option from here if you still want to go through with that.
But where would I download that on?
.
From the menu in the first screenshot you set, you can safely delete the bottom 3 partitions to start over. That's ..p7, 8 and 9. The site has an excellent guide (incl video) how to set up your partitions from there.

Omggg

Where is all of my space on the D drive

I'll check it out, my problem solving skills suck, which was why I ask for assistance, but I'll give it a read and see if it'll help
Looks like that's the one you shrunk to make room for bazzite from that partitioning
I'm guessing it didn't fully download unto the drive which might be why I'm getting the kernel error?
Since it's 4.5 gbs and the install should be more
It's not impossible.
Ok so if I delete partition 9 which is my 500gb partition, will the partition merge back into one or will it still be there
I see there's an updated video
On the link?

How to dual-boot Windows 11 and Bazzite (new version)
This is an updated version of my previous Bazzite dual boot guide. I've also added a new section for multiple ways of booting back into Windows which was missing in the previous video. Thank you for pointing this out in the comments. Unfortunately, it's not possible to add additional content to an existing video, so I've uploaded a new video.

You can delete the 600mb efi, the 1gb one and the 536.59 ones as you will be re-using those for the new bazzite install.
I deleted them and created a new volume
Gonna try to merge
Well merge the new volume with a bit of extra unallocated space I just got
@biebel thanks for your help, I finally got through
Very much appreciate your time that u took to assist me
