ACan't you just change the resolution in games?
ASome of this is Gnome's problem by the way (games seeing a different resolution). Try KDE, I have no problems with scaling there
AI also prefer Gnome's design by the way but KDE just simply does scaling better and that was the deal breaker for me on a 4K monitor
AYou can always stick to Gnome and use gamescope for games I guess
AAlso games usually run under XWayland so make sure you enable the flag to tell X apps to do the scaling themselves

AThis should allow you to do fractional scaling as well as fix scaling with XWayland apps (as in have them do it instead of the system doing it)

AI have this issue in cachyos on KDE as well actually so it's not uniquely bazzite
Cthis breaks everything on multimonitors though
Cxwayland native scaling makes life hell if you have say a 3440x1440@100% and a 2560x1600@150%
CHDR works fine for me on 5120x1440 oled
AI'm doing 4K HDR@144hz just fine. Single monitor though

AI don't recall if it was KWin or Mutter tho

KYour 200% thing is not a bug, that's how X11 scaling works
KUse Wayland via proton-ge, won't happen
KWe do nothing to customize this behavior
KGNOME and KDE are unmodified
