Weight loss and jeans: time for new ones?

So my current ones need a belt. They fall down without a belt they are very loose around my waist but the rest of the fit is perfect around my legs to the point I’m scared if they were tighter on the waist the legs would be too tight. Anyone else lose a lot of weight and have a similar issue/concern?

Hi @mynameisdyl! For better answers, include: - Reference pictures - Budget in numbers - Specific measurements - Openness to buying secondhand and/or online - Location: country/continent is fine - Timing/urgency

i own many pants that i must belt to wear, i see no problem with it because i love how they fit theres no law about how things need to fit. if you like how they look and feel thats all you need imo

if you're at a stable weight then it's your preference, regardless of what the internet may say from experience (250-160-250-165) it can be hard to shift but like double said i'd focus on how you look/feel. some of my fits need a belt, some don't but i accept that as a means to an end (looking cool)

You can have them taken in but i would limit that to maybe 1-2 inches otherwise the back pockets will look weird

not related to losing weight, but I bought a pair of jeans where every measurement (thighs, knees, leg opening, inseam length) is perfect except for the waist. It's not so extreme that my pants are falling down, but there's enough slack in the waist that even with a belt on, I get a bit of bunching in the crotch from the waist sagging a bit the jeans feel really good and look great, so I'm still wearing them

if you don't mind belting them, that's fine. If not, you can have the waist taken in (up to 2") Just depends what you're comfortable with

I guess it’s like I see people wearing jeans that look loose around the waist but somehow don’t fall down too which is crazy to me lol. I wouldn’t mind finding something like that because that seems like perfect comfort wise because a belt can also get uncomfortable. I guess I’m slightly overthinking if it’s fine for jeans to be loose in the waist and just need a belt to get over the hump. They definitely make me feel good too as a measurement of my progress.
