"Open to LAN" server render distance.

It seems that the distance at which an "Open to LAN" server provides chunks is tied to the in-game vanilla render distance of the server. Is there a way to remove that cap somehow without brute forcing it by just having a big amount of chunks loaded in on the server? -# Distant Horizons 2.3.4-b from Modrinth on Minecraft 1.21.1 with Fabric, no errors or relevant logs.
Solution:
update DH to 2.3.4 on that client, its outdated

both players need distant generation enabled

Distant generation is enabled on both ends, though that doesn't seem to affect anything. Technically nothing needs to be generated since a huge area is already there, but it couldn't be that, right?
