while working in blender i will get random segfaults causing the program to close
i installed blender via rpm-ostree so i could use HIP render, i also have the new Vulkan backend running for some better performance
the fault happens randomly, i could have a million face object in viewport and it would run fine (relatively), while i could just be playing around with the default cube and it would fault and crash.
not sure where to go from here since im fairly new to linux, ive been able to find very little information about this online so i would appreciate any help given
thanks

Solution
how about using Blender from steam? it should be able to use HIP
thanks for the response, i just checked the steam version and its showing no compatible gpus, i wonder if i need some launch arguments to get it to work
Properties
Select legacy runtime in compatibility
Do not select proton
Now blender should run without steamlinuxruntime 1.0
that worked. i am curious if that will solve the segfault issue so i will update if it happens again.
thanks a lot!
