Broadcon wl module lodaded even tho I dont have a broadcon

It is making the logs complain about "tainting the kernel":

The fix suggested by chatgpt:

Correct way on Bazzite to disable wl

Unload it right now (so it’s gone for this boot):

sudo modprobe -r wl

Blacklist it permanently (this still works fine on ostree systems):

echo "blacklist wl" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-broadcom.conf

Reboot your system and check again:

lsmod | grep wl

→ should be empty.

Optional: Remove Broadcom package entirely

If Bazzite pulled in Broadcom STA (akmod-wl or broadcom-wl-dkms) somehow, you can remove it with:

rpm-ostree override remove broadcom-wl akmod-wl

Then reboot.

There's a ujust command for this.

ujust configure-broadcom-wlujust configure-broadcom-wl

Which will let you enable or disable it. It does the blacklist commands for you. Wouldn't recommend the rpm-ostree though. Those can cause problems down the line if you aren't cautious.

You can also get a simple terminal gui to select it with

ujust --chooseujust --choose
