SWAT Elite Force mod from GOG does not start while SWAT 4 does

GOG just released https://www.gog.com/en/game/swat_elite_force (swat 4 is packaged with the mod).
The game does not start at all.
SWAT 4 https://www.gog.com/en/game/swat_4_gold_edition runs well outbox of the box :).
Probably not a big deal, but if someone sees the issue
