Slow App Opening, Plasma Crashes, but games work fine
Since about a month ago I've been seeing really slow speeds when opening apps for the first time on boot. By slow I mean like upwards of 10-15 seconds for the terminal or system monitor, or even like a minute for something like Lutris or Discord. What's interesting is that after they open for the first time, subsequent opens are basically instant in the same session. However, things like games take longer than usual to boot as well, but their performance once the game actually boots seems to be fine.
I suspected my SSD at first, but it seems fine. I ran a benchmark in KDisk, and sometimes I get 3000 MB/s read, and sometimes I get 40 MB/s read, though, so I'm not sure what to make from that. The SMART Test looks fine, though.
I've tried to rebase to an older Bazzite build (problem still occurs) and then rebased it back to stable. I used to have layers in my rpm-ostree, but I've since removed them in an effort to fix this issue. Is it possible I have a hardware incompatibility now? I've been running Bazzite since the start of the year, haven't had issues until now.
