steam overlay not working with games from the heroic game launcher
This could apply to all 3rd party games, but the only one I have are on gog; which has to launch through heroic.
Anyways the games will launch fine, but I can't use the steam overlay with them. Which is an issue for me, as I want to use my gamepad for old titles that generally have no controller support.
To be specific games like the wingcommander series. The controlls work just fine on my steam deck with the overlay. With out the voerlay on my desktop, I can't get my gamepad to work with these said games.

iirc steam overlay doesnt work with games sideloaded into steam..

is this it doesn't work as a linux thing? I know for a fact that it works on windows, then there is also the fact that steam provides the option of steam overlay for non-steam games. (windows and linux version of steam)

it is 100% a heroic game launcher issue. overlay works with escape from tarkov running through lutris.

minor update steam controller settings are now working in heroic games, after downloading and using proton-ge-10-16.
No overlay visual features work, but the controller pass through from steam is working at least.
