Excessive Speed (A.K.A. Speed 2021)
Hi there!
I'm trying to to run this game from the late 90's on my Steam Deck without any luck so far (I'm using the GOG version + Heroic).
When I click on run, Heroic seems to be trying to load the game but nothing happens in the end.

If it helps, I tried the Steam version as well with the same results. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Ok, I'm not sure why it's marked as piracy because it's not. I bought the game in those 2 stores I mentioned in the original post (GOG and Steam). I am able to install the game with the GOG installer + Heroic but the game refuses to run.
Edit: @"Leopard" sorry to ping you, but I saw that you were the one that wrongly flagged my post as piracy. I can show evidence that I bought the game in those 2 stores

Only evidence you can show me would be click to install button in Heroic for that game in your library and choose import option.
Then post a log with that copy.
Import uses your already exist game files when you point to them.

I curious on why you think I'm pirating this old game because I used the GOG installer I manually downloaded from the page. But alright then, I will do so and re-share the logs

Remove that env, add
PROTON_LOG=1 , run game like that.
Now there will be another additional log, likely in .var/blabla whatever path flatpak heroic uses

I'm not sure where the log file is located, I'm currently looking at /home/deck/.var/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl and subdirectories but I see nothing

I see nothing, but I found something interesting. I checked the game settings to verify that PROTON_LOG=1 was set on the env. variables and it was not. I re-added it and ran the game again just to find that the variable disappeared again from the game settings, so maybe it's not being saved before I run the game

Now I verified that adding any env. variable, closing the setting window and opening again shows me that no variable was added. Something happened to Heroic that is causing it to not persist env. variables
