Yes, that was the first time I've seen this issue. I tried re-running the deploy command and it's hanging at one layer.

I just closed down the terminal and reopened it and it worked eventually after a few tries

Containers look great! I'm currently running a bunch of machines on fly.io for my workload. (fast api + duckdb) The only feature missing from containers seem to be the lack of persistent disk, which I use for the duckdb file. I think I can work around that with R2 and lifespan in fast api though!

Can we do an R2 binding for containers or should I set up a typical access/secret key thing?

Hello - I have a couple of issues with containers.

#1) My container isn't logging anything. I can see a call that passed to container, but nothing shows up in the container logger.

For example:

I have a simple endpoint that passes a ping to the container...

I have it set for sleepAfter = "60m"; -- so it shouldn't be going down randomly...

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also getting a lot of thrashing ... meaning my container is being stopped and/or reported as stopped. I have a ping endpoint that is working...meaning I can reach my container...meanwhile I'm seeing the container print the message ...

The fact that I can't look at the logs is a bit hard to diagnose. I do see logs on the Durable Object associated with container. I would suggest looking there.

There no bindings to CF services that you can use in your container, you have to go through the crippled REST frontends for these services such as D1, R2, KV etc..

That said if you read the capnweb blog post there's a hint at the end that suggests to me they'll eventually rollout some SDKs to talk to CF Services with capnweb as the protocol

they don't have internet access do they? I thought the durable object has to handle that. That said the durable object does have access to those things so it can proxy them, but for things like downloading a file thats not really practical

Ah the container package is using alarms under the hood right now to keep your container alive, since the DO has to be alive for the container to be alive. so probably that no-op alarm handler is overriding that and causing the thrashing

you can use scheduleschedule on the container class instead of alarms for now if you need that functionality.

is there anyway for the container to call/instruct the DO that commands it? I know bindings aren't really passed into the container, but how can the container talk back up to cloudflare?

Do I just have to fetch()fetch() on the worker's URL? Does this count as egress?

Also would be really cool if wrangler, running the container, could configure the local container to run with host networking, so that the container can call my worker using localhost

Hey all - Anyone submit the use case to being able to override the instance type of a container as a start param / argument?

Right now I would need to setup a N classes that extend my CustomContainerClass which is configured as separate durable objects / containers in wrangler.

Ideally I am able to have a default instance_type in wrangler, and have the ability to increase resources dynamically.

If this is not on the roadmap / happening anytime soon, happy to implement the above solution - Just need guidance if I missed something and wondering if anyone else ran into this case.

Does anyone know what time length container keeps itself alive, basically my worker which is cron worker, calls containers, I'm uing cloudflare/containers npm package, and I can see logs that my container has started, in container I have my python code, which has print statements, in container logs I can see some of these print statements being logged, but then nothing happens, container code doesnt get full executed, my container then shuts down by itself, with possibly incomplete code completion, I have used sleepAfter 30m, i use wrangler tail to track logs and i get some Alarm logs every 3 minutes, then after 10 minutes, container shuts down, what can i do that code gets completed, it can take 15-20 mins to complete, my container code is a python function which do some tasks and then exit, can you guide me through this
