Figma kit too big
Hey guys, got a question here.
Been advocating Nuxt UI so much to my team that design team has started using it.
However they seem to be running into an issue with figma: the Nuxt file is so big that they run in to size & memory usage issues. like 70% usage
Has anyone faced the same issue? How did you solve it?
Any suggestions on how to solve this?
Cheers Nuxters!

Hi @Tadeu. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

I'm sorry, but the knowledge sources provided do not contain information about handling large Figma kit files or memory issues specifically related to the Nuxt UI Figma kit. The documentation covers Nuxt UI's features, accessibility, and integration with Vue and Tailwind CSS, but does not address Figma file management or optimization strategies for design assets in Figma.
If you need guidance on optimizing Figma files, you may want to consult Figma's own documentation or community forums. For Nuxt UI-specific questions about the Figma kit, consider reaching out to the Nuxt UI team or community directly, as this topic is not covered in the available Nuxt documentation or resources.

It's actually at 100% for me. Still working, though not raising a lot of confidence π

@Tadeu @Daedalus Indeed, for me too, it's been quite complicated to work on this release, but the problem is that we have just too many components and Figma uses web technologies that are too limiting. One solution I'm considering is to take the templates out of the kit to free up space in the file, otherwise we'll have to split the kit, unfortunately
It's an amazing kit, the work you all put in there is amazing! I learned so much just reading through the guides π
And yeah, I already created a "light" duplicate of the file where I deleted the templates, it really helps a little π
I only really realized the actual size of your file when I tried to use the Penpot exporter plugin. Even after deleting the templates and all components except for those starting with A-C it wouldn't work because of the sheer amount of data! So I didn't even dare to think about asking for support on that endeavor.
Thanks a lot! But yes I know, the problem is that I've already tried to follow as many good practices as possible to optimize the ram but nothing works. I think Figma really needs to optimize the software π¬
Appreciate the answers guys.
From here I'll conclude for now:
- Remove templates to free up some space
- it is an issue we can't really solve as it's mostly due to figma's performance issues
- maybe remove figma components that we don't currently need, and later on add them?
Cheers guys!
