Backup Stopping

After upgrading to 2.0.0 (and now 2.0.01), back ups will just randomly stop. Video attached below it will go up and down for a minute and then just completely stopped like in the video

turning off hard work acceleration based on this github post that matched my log errors seems to fix the issue? Not sure why, though considering I'm turning off hard work, acceleration and video transcoding, and the issue doesn't seem to be related?

Maybe im just stupid, then be the issue isn't actually fixed and it just hasn't happened since.

the only error I could find in the log is this:

Some more information. If I totally delete the app and re-download it, it will work for a certain amount of time before doing the same issue. The Number said it stopped at seemed to have no pattern. If they really are corrupted headers then that shouldn't really stop the whole upload process, right? Also, everyone of these files has already been successfully uploaded, but I'm trying to make it so it knows that on the iPad.

all the other logs are positive, there's really nothing other than the successful initiation logs, and that one error. I have an SSD and the hard drive with the actual library on it

Just my 5 cents, try to free up a bit more space on ios, and reopen the app after it stops, possibly it tries to fetch full version of media from icloud to backup and/or compare hashes/checksums.

I experienced similar behavior, had full ios lib backup, updated server and app to v2, ios app thought nothing is backed up and local asset hash count wasn't updating.

Only after reinstalling the app it started to see that some amount is already uploaded, but stopped at random. If I reopen the app - count will keep going down, but will stop again.

I have narrowed it down to be due to assets that has to be downloaded from icloud, but due to low free space (comparatively), app is only able to fetch few of them until it give ups.

Cleaning a bit more free space lead to a faster process with bigger chucks between reopening the app.

Thank you for the suggestion, unfortunately not applicable. I’m at 207gb free out of 256. I would highly doubt that that’s causing an issue. After disabling hard work acceleration though I can confirm I have successfully uploaded 40,000 without it crashing once.

I also experienced the same thing with the app restarting that seems to be gone in 2.0.1, but either way, shouldn’t be happening.

I have, but every photo on the device has been successfully backed up before, so it wouldn’t make sense for one to be a problem now

Well, unfortunately, Apple doesn’t usually show iCloud Photos taking up stirage
