Techwear pants?

Hey guys,

Fall is here/Winter is coming up and I'm trying to find a pair of pants to fit in my rotation. I currently have

• Wide tan chinos
• Green fatigue pants
• Brown chef pants
• Indigo/black denim (slim fit)
• Dark grey dressy wool pants

For a piece to round everything out, I was thinking of getting something grey. My other gear heavily leans "workwear", with urban, relaxed styling with the occasional "pop piece". Was thinking of pairing with the knitted wool sweater (pic attached) that I just got. Got more jackets in Blue, etc.

Would these address any "gap"? Since these are sleeker, I'm not entirely sure if these fit into how I dress, for a primarily city lifestyle with tough canadian winters. I don't think I understand the purpose of these pants, styling wise. My other "go-to" would've been gramicci-esque pants in grey but maybe getting a techwear piece would help me branch out into other looks.
