Wine-GE is very outdated and should not be used. It is not the default in Heroic

ok so it seems a change I made for one game then defaulted as selection for any new installs
reset heroic, reinstalled games haven't touched wine stuff, this message appears on first game launch, click yes, still don't have any inputs on the steam deckπ

ge-proton8-23 is also really old
click Wine Manager in heroic's sidebar, and install the latest ge-proton
then configure it in the game's settings

any ideas why it's still defaulting to this stuff? I've just wiped it and started fresh
ok, it's certainly a bug
8-23 isn't even in the list of availabile downloads
installing 'latest' then trying to launch game again for first time still shows 8-23
only when downloading 10-17 (the highest under the 'latest') does it then present 10-17 to be used on that screen
10-17 has controller inputs π
no idea why 'latest' selection for wine manager wasn't actually downloading anything
8-23 isn't even in the list of availabile downloads8-23 is so old that it's not listed anymore. I don't think that case was considered in the Wine Manager, so you'd have to manually delete it (if you installed it using Heroic). It should be in
~/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic/tools/proton/
installing 'latest' then trying to launch game again for first time still shows 8-23You have to actually go into the game settings & select the new version
no idea why 'latest' selection for wine manager wasn't actually downloading anythingHm, are you saying that after downloading
GE-Proton-latest, the version didn't show up in the selector? That's odd indeed, could you send in Heroic's log file?
