URGENT: Project Restoration Failed - Core Services Unhealthy After Extended Period
Hello,
What I'm trying to achieve:
Access my Supabase project database and dashboard for a web application.
What's going wrong:
Project restoration has failed or is stuck:
Failed Restoration: Project status shows Database, PostgREST, Auth, and Storage as "Unhealthy" for extended period (way beyond the 5-minute restoration window)
DNS Still Missing: Database host db.[project-id].supabase.co DNS record still doesn't exist
Connection Timeouts: All database operations still fail with HTTP 522 errors
Partial Recovery: Only Realtime and Edge Functions are healthy
Duration: Issue has persisted for several hours, restoration attempt has been stuck
Environment Details:
OS: macOS
Platform: Web application
Region: us-east-2
Project Status: Shows "Recently restored projects can take up to 5 minutes to become fully operational" but core services remain unhealthy for extended period
Technical Evidence:
DNS queries still return "No answer" from multiple DNS servers
Database operations still timeout with connection errors
Project dashboard shows restoration in progress but has been stuck
Only non-database services (Realtime, Edge Functions) are operational
IPv6 record exists but connectivity fails
Impact:
Complete database unavailability - cannot access core data services despite restoration attempt.

Where you doing a project operation that put you in this restoring state?
Support though is the only answer to fix a stuck project if during a Project operation like upgrade, restoring a paused project, etc.
If your project just has bad status for the subsystems you could try a project restart, but not clear if that is available depending on what you are doing.
I was not doing anything like that. The only thing I could have been doing was trying to put a row in the database as unique, and I was using Claude Code.
Thank you for your help btw!
I have contacted support, but it takes up to 2/3 days on the Pro plan to get a response. Can a restart delete my project @garyaustin? Thank you.
No a restart can't delete the project. It does not touch data. It could hang things up depending on whats wrong with your instance, but if you are already hung up...
Worth a try then. Thanks for your help.
@garyaustin Thank you so much. The restart worked.
@garyaustin can i use MCP via cursor to restart mine on a free plan?
5 days and no response
