External Library not seeing photos

Hey everyone, I’m at a total loss. I’m running a server with TrueNas Community and Portainer. When I updated to v2x I got a cyclic referencing issue where thumbnails were being stored in my library so more thumbnails were created off those… my storage exploded to 10 times its real size. I nuked the library and the db and decided to start fresh since I had all my photos backed up on an smb drive on the same server.
Now here’s the issue - I have a new instance of Immich running 2.23.0 and for the LIFE of me, I can not get access to those images in Immich. I copied them to another dataset to ensure it wasn’t an access issue, I can access the dataset in the console (it just appears to be empty), I’ve changed the owner to apps, my user, root and even made a new 1000 user… I’m just at a loss. Am I doing something wrong? Or should I abandon this and just try to manually upload 40GB of photos? Anyone know the best way to do that from within the same server?
