Drôle de Monsieur
can anyone comment on the quality and feel of their jeans in particular?
I saw someone wearing them and thought the cut looked good, possibly the Délavé loose-fit: https://droledemonsieur.com/products/le-jean-delave
can't find much mention of the brand elsewhere here

I don't see much reason to buy these over the myriad Japanese denim options that are similarly priced.

I doubt there's anything wrong with per se, just a bit of the market that is pretty cornered and these aren't doing much interesting enough to buy over more known quantities.
Wash and cut are two very good reasons to pick these up if you like them.
I can't comment on their jeans specifically but the quality and feel of most of their clothing has been solid. I haven't really picked up any of it at full price because I do think you're ultimately just paying more of the name than anything else
thanks
what would you recommend specifically in that range with a similar cut and wash?
drole peaked with 2015s menswear+streetwear trends and doesn't really offer much in the way of actual differentiator.
Braindead, left field, levis, stussy, supreme, even ALD all carry the same type of cut and wash at lower price points and more reputable denim.
fair enough, I think what was noteworthy about them was the way they were cut in the back, they weren't super high waisted overall yet they seemed to be somewhat higher in the back but in a streamlined way if that makes sense
