Trouble loading mods for a game through r2modman

I just jumped ship from windows today, and switched to bazzite. While the game is launching just fine, the mods themselves are not working. I’m assuming it’s because the files for the mods are .dll files, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to work around this? Sorry if I’m ignoring something obvious here, I’m still learning linux.

I've used r2modman and it works just fine, what issue do you have? Any errors that popup or something?

the only thing that I can think of, and correct me if I’m way off, is that I should be running the game through proton in order for these mods to work? I have an option in r2modman to run it on native or through proton, and I believe I have native selected right now

unfortunately my power went out and won’t be back for a couple hours so I can try that when my power comes back later (if that’s an actual solution)

sorry I just realized I didn’t answer your question lol. no popups, the game launches just fine. mods just not working for some reason, which is why i thought it might be an issue with .dll files and proton

okay that’s a relief to hear. i’ve been reading all these thing online trying to figure out what to do… seems like I just needed the power to go out so I could have some time away from the screen to think LOL

Power came back, but now I'm running into another issue. I was able to confirm that I was trying to run the game via the native installation, so the mods might work... if it would launch. NOW whenever i try to launch the game through r2modman I get an error that says this: Error invoking remote method 'node:fs:readFile': Error: ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '/var/home/[USER]/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/553310/pfx/user.reg'

and i tried resetting the directory for the game in r2modman but to no avail
