Can't use hibernate or sleep on my Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen10 Laptop
I’ve been doing a ton of research for the past few weeks. I’m not a Bazzite/Linux expert, but I’m trying my best to stay positive and put in the effort.
This all started because my laptop wakes from sleep almost instantly. I’ve dug through countless forum posts and even used two different AIs to help troubleshoot. No matter what I try, the laptop immediately wakes itself within seconds of being put to sleep. The logs don’t show anything useful about the wake event, and I’ve already disabled Wi-Fi, Ethernet, USB devices, adjusted fan-control services, GPU settings, BIOS settings—pretty much everything I can think of. After weeks of debugging, I finally gave up on fixing sleep and decided to try using hibernate instead.
Hibernate
I followed two different guides (one official and one unofficial):
• Bazzite swapfile guide https://docs.bazzite.gg/Advanced/swapfile/
• Hibernation guide https://mentazen.com/en/how-to-enable-hibernation-in-bazzite-linux/
I am also actively scrolling through this discord looking for old conversations that may help.
Despite following both, I haven’t been able to get hibernation working with a swap file. After that failed, I experimented with Lumo and ChatGPT to dig deeper. I can get the system to enter hibernate, but when resuming it just boots like a normal shutdown. The AI help wasn’t very effective.
My question is:
Has anyone successfully set up hibernation on their laptop using a swap file? Should I try using a full swap partition instead of a file? And are there any guides that clearly explain what’s going on?
