Extremely poor OS performance
CPU: Athlon 3000g - iGPU disabled
GPU: R9 380X
SSD: main drive is a Kioxia Exceria SATA 500gb. Another 250gb drive.
OSses present: 500gb drive has bazzite and two 2023 windows 10 installs. 250gb has my main windows install.
WiFi: awful Chinese brand 5ghz WiFi adapter that crashes every now and then
RAM: 8GB 3200mhz
Motherboard: ASrock a520m-HVS - has issues, sometimes boot fails, beeps to let me know memory has been reset and boots successfully after. Temperature is reported as -65535 on CPU. Can't control fan speeds.
OS: Bazzite AMD Gnome Stable
Having installed bazzite from USB on my secondary PC, moving over from windows, I noticed that bazzite has major inconsistencies and issues between boots:
Every second boot freezes after entering the password, that is the GUI goes away, the mouse remains on screen on the grey background but it can't be moved.
Bazzite cant shut down, the loading sign appears but the system simply hangs. Forcing me to shut down with a long press of the power button.
If I use the top left menu and click update, over the course of three minutes the system will slow. It slows slowly and unnoticeably at first, the only sign of anything wrong is apps not launching quickly, before the whole system goes from ~10fps at desktop down to 5 down to 0 and seems to hang.
Upon install, launching apps is extremely lethargic.
Very high CPU usage compared to my windows install (debloated with security off. ect.).
I reinstalled Bazzite this morning from the same usb, flashed with Rufus. The issues persist. I am manually partitioning my drive according to the instructions on the website, though I've only allocated 50gb to this whole process.
My issue is that there is a whole lot of sluggishness and crashing on a system that has never had these issues.
I am currently downloading Bazzite KDE in case this could be a fix and I appreciate any help I could get if this is a known or easily fixed issue without the need for a reinstall.
