God damn CONTROLLER!

I am going crazy with this controller, it only connects to windows and nothing else, I tried a xone driver made for the Steam Deck, that worked well on SteamOS. But then I switched to Bazzite which supposedly already has xone, but the controller doesn't work, it seems to connect but the system doesn't recognize it, please help this controller is god damn annoying.

It uses a USB dongle, it has no bluetooth, I also tried using a cable. Also this is a bad third party controller, it is not official. Well, maybe not bad, it looks kind of cool.

make sure the controller is fully updated in the windows xbox bs thing
the controller connects but chrome/mozila needs special permissions to access it because you're using flatpak
worked fine with cable & usb dongle after I updated the controller firmware but not bluetooth
bluetooth can connect but depends on the bluetooth version you have, for newer modern ones it connected and showed straight away for older ones I had to manually search the bluetooth via cli

xpad should be for usb (and dongles usually)
xone should be for bluetooth

make an udev rule
/etc/udev/rules.d/99-gamepad.rules/etc/udev/rules.d/99-gamepad.rules

if the controller is already connected then unplug it and replug it to see if it auto adds itself to the driver. (make sure you try this on a freshly booted system where you did not manually add it yet)

Yeah, ChatGPT almost never works, the only reason it did this time is because you basically did most of the work and ChatGPT just filled the gaps, so yeah, I would never use it for more important stuff

I probably won't switch to another Linux Distro, Bazzite seems to work really well for all my needs
