Frostpunk GOG does not launch with internet connection

I have the same problem found in this post 🆘-supportFrostpunk GOG does not work
When I try to play the game without internet connection it starts just fine, but when there is internet for some reason comet is killed and the game won't start. I'm planning to use the offline GOG installer as OP did, however I would like to just use Heroic directly instead of doing some workaround.
I don't know if a solution is feasible at the moment, but any help is welcome anyways.
