Pseudo Steam Machine Problems

I recently installed Bazzite on my PC with the goal of creating a more powerful Steam Machine. Installation went smoothly and I have enjoyed gaming, but so far I have encountered the following problems:

Twice now, when I turn on the PC it boots into the desktop and prompts me to log in to Steam again, rather than starting in Big Picture Mode. When this happens, it also turns off Bluetooth and resets my boot video. What am I doing wrong?

logging in to this console mode (tty) will let us know if there's a problem with your permissions as it will show a warning if it does.

if there's no error, i would recommended updating the system (

ujust upgrade

) then rebooting. if there's still nothing, try deleting the steam client data (rm -r $HOME/.local/share/steamrm -r $HOME/.local/share/steam) then reboot again.

i had to do that before to fix the same issue.

the reason you get sent to desktop at startup is because steam is crashing for some reason

open terminal and run

ujust fix-reset-steam

ujust fix-reset-steam

it is way less destructive than what @Suki suggested and does the same thing

it does the same as rm -r $HOME/.local/share/steamrm -r $HOME/.local/share/steam but skips some folders which contain controller layouts, saves and games library
then it starts steam to "reinstall" steam
