No EFI Partition option in drop-down menu during install

Hiyo, I'm trying to dual boot bazzite on a Lenovo laptop. Following the provided YouTube video on the bazzite.gg website.

I followed the steps on bazzite.gg to download an appropriate iso (desktop, Intel Xe, steam desktop version) and verified the checksum using 7zip, and shrunk the windows partition.
I burned(?) the image to a 128gb USB drive using Rufus in win11 and booted successfully from the USB.
After selecting a language and selecting to customize the partitioning, there's no option to create an EFI partition in the drop down menu.

I found another person with this problem (https://github.com/ublue-os/bazzite/issues/3034). They said it was because the flash drive partition scheme was set to MBR but mine was already set to GPT by default.

Forgot to mention - secure boot is off.

And as for CSM... It's greyed out. Here's a pic.

This is a known issue in blivet on the live installer afaik. As a workaround you can either make the efi partition in disks: Make a FAT partition of the recommended size and label it EFI or use the legacy installer.

I don't see an option for FAT so how would I go about finding a legacy installer? And what does that mean in terms of things I need to be careful of?

Oh :/. Do you have the option in gparted? That should also be on the live installer.

The legacy iso is an option after selecting the hw on the site. Downside is mostly no easy workaround for error 1 on preexisting fedora efi entry and a step more for secure boot.

Make sure your HDD/SSD where you want to install Bazzite is in GPT. I had the same issue at first and it turned out that the drive has to be converted to GPT in order to support EFI at all (even for Windows)

Update: I was able to create an EFI partition using the windows disk mgmt tool. Then I could install Bazzite successfully. However, the PC refuses to boot into Fedora even though I changed the boot order. I know the boot order function works because it knows to boot from USB before windows. Secure boot is off. CSM is off. I don't know what to try from here.
