CPU temps suddenly much higher

performance
For the past few days I have been playing Horizon Forbidden West. Generally it's been going really well and temps have been fine. GPU around 55-60c and CPU hovering around 45c. I booted it this afternoon and the CPU is constantly around 65c instead. The game itself is using 50% CPU when it previously used maybe 15-20%.

So far I have tried to clear the cache and the problem persists. I am currently reinstalling the game and I am going to swap proton stuff. I was on the Proton Experimental, which worked great for Ghost of Tsushima and so far in this as well. But I am swapping to GE-Latest when it's downloaded.

Anyone experienced something similar? I assumed it would be the cache, but since I've cleared it, had it compile the vulkan shaders again, and the problem persists? I am not sure why.

CPU is a 9800x3d with a 360 AIO.
