some windows freeze when switching from a fullscreen application

one thing that's been bothering me, not only bazzite but also fedora 42-43 with both gnome and KDE: if I have a fullscreen game and I alt-tab out of it, some applications will often (like 80% of the time) have the contents of their windows visually frozen; as in, they respond to mouse clicks sometimes, if I blindly click where a button is, but otherwise they're totally useless unless the window snaps out of that state randomly. The issue also disappears after closing the fullscreen game, so it seems to be something continuous as long as a fullscreen game exists. It affects Firefox and Discord especially, not all applications. Any idea about why this happens? Any fix?
