Computer sometimes hardfreezes while playing games

Hey y'all. I installed Bazzite on my computer back in late November and the experience has been great EXCEPT for one (very) intermittent issue and it's my computer completely locking up during gameplay resulting in me needing to hard reset the system.
I've had it happen so far in 3 games. The Finals, Expediition 33, and now Deadlock being the most severe case. When the lock up happens i can still hear audio progressing but am unable to alt+tab, force close or move my mouse to another monitor to navigate. I tried inputting the keybind that takes you to a TTY but after looking through some posts here seeing if anyone has my specific issue i realized i was inputting the bind wrong (Ctrl+F4) so that specific troubleshooting piece hasn't quite been ruled out yet. My theory is that it's something to do with shader caching since it seems to happen most when an explosion or high intensity effect hits the screen because after each subsequent crash the stability improves after replicating said effect and i can continue longer until a new roadblock comes along. I had this issue happen the most in multiplayer games like the finals or deadlock which is very unfortunate because of how many different outcomes that can happen from gadgets and abilities equipped and it's pretty annoying that i have to hope another team doesn't use something new to just crash my computer and ruin the fun. Expedition 33 i had it happen during a bossfight 6 times which was infuriating and then had it happen 4+ times in a cutscene where i had to inch my way across the finish line.
Bazzite is basically 90% there for me and fixing this quirk will more than likely keep me on linux rather than rolling back to win11. i'm a bit rusty on my linux troubleshooting and terminal commands i'm pretty forgetful on but the troubleshooting i've done so far is verifying gamefiles, and running ujust -update hoping it installs a new graphics driver. Is there any commands that can be suggested to help me find a cause?
