Steam games endlessly verifying when downloading or updating

Steam games endlessly verify when I try to update or install them. I have cleared my download cache, restarted steam and my computer. Specifically the games i have trouble with are Counter Strike 2, The Finals, and Team Fortress 2, other games like Deep Rock Galactic and Terraria have no issues. My steam games are downloaded to the defualt location. I am using the latest version of Bazzite with gnome, with i7 10700k, 32Gb DDR4, RX 5700 XT
