The root domain doesn't work at the moment due to DNS specs.

From from I understand the SSL for SaaS page (your Pages deployment) is being prioritized more than all other features, meaning it's ignoring every setting (from Workers, to Page Rules, to Rocket Loader, etc.)

Apparently Acces now works! It's just not changing the toggle in the settings, but it's configurable in the Teams Dashboard! It even likes the wildcard, even if it complains.

I just found out tonight... It used to give a 405 when doing the API call and I believe either @gregbrimble or @eidam checkd in the Teams Dash and the subdomain wasn't showing.

Got beta access to Pages for the first time this morning. Set up two test sites, one Hugo-based and one Eleventy-based. Once I figured out how to use envir. vars. to set the Hugo version (default = a very old 0.54.0), that one worked well. Eleventy-based was fine since it strictly followed package.json dependency specs. Build process is really slow for now but I assume that'll get better. Sites' online performance looks great so far. Hoping options for setting asset-caching will be available in the near future, since the lack thereof is a show-stopper for my using Pages as production-level go-to for now.

@albertzhao Hoped it would be useful info. Yes, I set it to the current (0.80.0) in environment variables and that worked fine. (Docs don't really tell how, but I tried HUGO_VERSIONHUGO_VERSION with 0.80.00.80.0, and that worked.) Re the build speed: a repo that's almost identical to the Eleventy-based test repo builds on Vercel in about 25 seconds, on Digital Ocean App Platform in about 40 seconds, on Netlify in about 30 seconds, on CFW via GH Actions in about 1:45, and on Firebase via GH Actions in about 1:20.

Don't know why they picked 0.54.0, but a lot has changed in Hugo since then — including default Markdown parser (from Blackfriday to Goldmark) — so they might really want to reconsider that choice.

But good on them for defaulting to the extended version of Hugo, which is required to support Hugo Pipes use of SCSS/SASS. Good choice there.

I was thinking, if you do a Cloudflare Pages deploy, is the deploy engine smart enough to only empty the cache for the items that actually changed (based on Etag or file hash, for instance)? Or is this simply quick & dirty emptying the whole cache with each deploy?
