Ait's still current but in general we don't recommend making custom brushes in Unity as we will probably never support exporting them to other apps. So unless you can do that manually yourself you'll be stuck

Osorry what do you mean by other apps? do you mean making a brush and putting it into open brush to use or do you mean taking a brush and using it in a different game?

AIf you make a custom brush using Lachlan's method, then getting it out of Open Brush is tricky
AI think getting it into Unity SDK/Toolkit is probably ok
Abut any exports to GLTF, FBX etc might be difficult

Owhen i login to open brush it says 'powered by tiltbrush' which makes me think tiltbrush is the way we move the controller around and 'paint'- can i pls ask if this is correct?
Ooh i guess what makes open brush unique is the beauty of the brushes actually? the painting motion is in other apps as far as i understand, unless open brush as a differentiated painting motion so that motions are captured in a unique way or something? (pls may i ask)

Mok, so that's the Rift build. We probably need a better way to ask people who use a Quest if they're actually using it as a Quest, or tethered as a Rift

AYeah. I've never found a simple way to ask that question. "Are you running on a Quest standalone or VR connected to a PC?" is that unambiguous enough?
ASo to respond to @othervrbarry I guess we need to check the latest Rift build from the website to see if it works. Can't remember if I've specifically tested the Rift experimental version.
APoll:
- use standalone
- use wired
- use airlink
- use (whatever the other wireless method is...can't recall off the top of my head...)
- Only use rift
- Only use vive
- Use other headset
then you get specific answers and can summarize 1 or 2-4, and pick up data on the ratio of headset vs quest users and avoid confusion in that area.
if it's just in a quest users group somewhere, then can probably go with 1-4
OI reinstalled it and it now seems to work. However, before reinstalling, I transferred all files from documents to other folders, and erased the documents folders so that the program would be completely fresh. I had had over 220 sketches, 500 videos, and about 700 pictures in there. Could the number of files have been causing issues?
AYou could try putting them back to see if the problem reoccurs?

Generally the impact is slower load/access times or just taking too long to get to the pictures I need.
Would be nice to have a way to rename the default name for the new sketch or untitled when you do this to prevent duplicate names of different files.
You can work around that with a tool that can do bulk renaming, like irfanview,
but would prefer not to take that route because I sometimes forget, and so the videos/image/files match when I'm trying to locate a sketch

A few days ago, while I was working on a project, I was surprised to build a Torus (donut) with a gesture meanwhile using the Straight Edge tool.
It happened suddenly and I have no idea how I got there as I didn't know open brush had that feature
But no matter gesture I tried after, I was not able to reproduce it again.
Does someone knows that trick?
Are there other geometric forms available with gestures?
I am using a HP Reverb G2
