[SOLVED] Ways to separate audio in OBS when recording
Hi guys, I was editing my footage and having some trouble with my mic overlapping with my game audio. I would like to separate them while recording to edit them easily later on. Is there a way to do it within OBS?

Usually I just run my mic recording through audacity, then the desktop audio through the obs recording
that way you don’t have to set your recording as a .mkv file
Is there some downside of using .mkv?
The best part of using an mkv format is that if O?BS were to crash you don't lose anything like you do with mp4.
Can't I use split audio with OBS and use other format than mkv?
You can use whatever format you want, I'm just saying that OBS has a feature whereby you can export to MKV and once the recording stops it gets muxed in to MP4. If you use this and OBS were to crash you will retain the recording up to the crash point. If you export direct to MP4 you will lose any footage that has been recorded. It's possibly not a problem for you.
Ah okay. I got it mixed up lol. Thanks for the clarification
