Moving external folder location
I believe that’s the issue as well, as I just used the recommended command from the ArchLinux wiki about backing up files.
I checked the sizes of the old folder and new folder and indeed they’re exactly the same.
I will double check but I think no files from the original folder had hardlinks

I suppose my question was about the relevance of the dot files
for each "real" file such as
IMG_8790.HEIC it seems it's trying to copy a .FILENAME.suffix file that I can't even see if I ls -al in the original folder, are these temporary file made by immich, do they serve any purpose?10 replies
