Difference bewteen upload and library folder

Hello 🤙 , I've seen similar questions here but I don't see the answer I'm looking for, sorry if the answer has already been said. I just saw that in my upload folder I see an upload folder and a livrary folder with both my image and video files. I'm under the impression that library stores user folders and albums, but for images outside albums, where does that go? And what about the upload folder? Thanks for your help ❤️
