For hot conc HI dont we further substitute the oh group and get 2 iodoalkanes? The ans given is opt 2 which would've been the case if they'd have given cold conc HI. What am i missing out on?

In the 1st question,it asks maximum number of photons possible which should be 7->6->5...->1 so 6 for each atom so 600,but answer gives it as 6c2×100 which makes no sense,it cant do all possible paths??
