shader fails to load completely; no chat message. 1.20.4

iris doesn't show the failed to load error, I had to open the console in the launcher to see the failed to load error. the shader pack also drags into the shader pack selection screen as a "valid shader pack". the shader doesn't technically support 1.20.4, but I fail to see how there could be much difference between 1.20.1 and 1.20.4. shader used: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/texture-packs/old-lighting-old-water version: 1.20.4 mods used:...

apologies for leaving you on read for so long, I decided to "do my own thing", so to speak me looking at the log sent me down a rabbit hole of downloading colormatic for the colormap shaderpack (a really good idea, apparently!), among other mods listed here (like the skybox mod) https://optifine.alternatives.lambdaurora.dev/. this has made the pack work AND work better than it otherwise would've. beta lighting! hoo-ray! only slight differences that I can't seem to fix are the skybox not really working, and the smooth lighting on the water while still retaining smooth lighting elsewhere, which there doesnt seem to be a mod to turn off specifically. oh well. if there's possible help with those two issues, I'd appreciate it. otherwise, I've solved the issue....

Making my first shader, how do I keep vanilla shadows?

I'm working on my own shader (mostly for learning) and I want to work on it bit by bit and learn as I think of things. Right now I've simply created some fog. But when my shader is active it seems I completely lose vanilla shadows? How can I get them back while using my shader? I'm trying to fix up a modpack that i have but when i load up a shader, almost all of them load improperly with this bug, I'm using 1.20.1 and have distant horizons.

Black sky glitch

ive been getting this error for the past year and i dont know how to solve it, it appears with all shaders that are high end and with low end shaders the clouds just disappear instead, i got no idea what causes it, ive played other versions of minecraft, without any mods etc and it just wont go away. i remember that there is a shader where in its settings i disabled something related to pbr and the sky would stop being black, as you can see the borders of things are pixelated and appear to show...

Axiom 'replace block' mode and Iris make the ground flicker/disapear

When using a combination of Axiom, and Iris (with a shader pack active, complemetary, BSL, bloop, any really), and enabling the "replace block" mode (keybind R), the ground will disapear and flicker when holding a translucent block (e.g., red stained glass). 1.21.4, Axiom 4.5.3, Iris 1.8.8.

Cannot handle shaders?

Hello, a friend of mine has an issues with his shaders. Basically, he has a good pc, an rtx and such.. can play games like cyberpunk or baldur's gate on full resolution but he cannot handle shaders on minecraft, he uses iris shaders right now and it doesn't seem to work in any version, loader, modpack.. anyone can help? His minecraft becomes reallyyyy glitchy and slow with shaders. For myself, i have a different pc that is less good than his and can handle without problem..?...

Weather rendering error

I've noticed in a modpack im making with a friendgroup, we're having issues with the way how weather renders and particles as a whole. They render ontop of everything and stick on the screen. In addition to moving VERY weirdly when the player moves, sometimes it takes up half of the screen, other times it doesn't and just randomly flickers across the screen. The only mod we've noticed that changes this behaviour is ArsNouveau - Changing shader packs does not affect the behavior either...

Endless loading screen

Hey, I played with this mod on version 1.21.4 and it worked perfectly fine. But then I changed the version to 1.20.1 and I have the endless loading screen before the main menu. No extra mods were used, just Fabric API, Iris, sodium, indium. All the mods are the latest version. Idk what else to say....

No shaders option

I'm on Fabric and I have both Iris and Sodium installed with my current shader pack, but I don't see the shader option. Can someone help?

Trouble launching Iris// Sodium

Hello! Im working on a small server just for myself and it leaves me with a blank screen. Doesnt really give a crash report or anything.. Im running 1.20.2 and i have scrolled through some of these posts trying to find a solution. I have the fabric api, fabric irist 1.20.2 and sodium 5.5. If anyone could help I will be eternally grateful!

Iris Encountered an issue trying to load the shader error

issue when loading shader

I'm new to fabric modding so I may need a little more help, but when I tried loading Complementary Reimagined with Euphoria Patches the shader wouldn't load. Complementary Reimagined works just fine on it's on but when I add Euphoria It loads vanilla graphics every time without fail. I've tried loading them without other mods, different instances, reinstalling iris, the shaders and Euphoria but every time I get the same error. The copied info liked by iris is "Shader compilation failed for deferred1!"...

Missing Characters?

When loading MC up via the curseforge app and some other mods including Iris, sodium and better sodium, my language seems to have dissapeared, after turning iris off and loading in again the problem was fixed, but with iris I get this.
