Issue launching Epic Game-games on Steam Deck

Jusst got my Steam deck and installed Heroic. I've used Heroic lots on my laptop (Ubuntu 25.04) without any issues, but on the Steam deck I have a very strange issue. Issue: Whenever I try to launch a game I own through Epic Games (Any gave, I've tried about 5 games ranging from indies to AAA) nothing happens. The GUI signals "Launching" and then "Playing", but nothing happens and no game starts. Nothing happens if I click the "stop playing" button either. I've tried different Wine paths, used default Wine prefix and prefixes to GOG games I know working, disabled/enabled every setting I can think of but the issue still persists. No resources are being used, the game just won't start. Same if I use the start menu short cuts. The log seems to indicate that nothing happens after it locates the Wine prefix. Solution:

Solution, in case it might help anyone (or if the devs can see this and implement a solution). After running Heroic through terminal I could see one clear error message, that Heroic while launching could not locate the file 'home/deck/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic/areweanticheatyet.json'. Looked in the folder, and noope, no such file present. I tried creating an empty .json, or find a way for Heroic to update/create the file itself, but to no avail. After googling, I found the GitHub-project "Are We Anti Cheat Yet?", that tracks games with anti cheat support on Linux (https://github.com/AreWeAntiCheatYet/AreWeAntiCheatYet). Starting to suspect what the launcher was loking for, I found the list on the github as a .json called games.json (https://github.com/AreWeAntiCheatYet/AreWeAntiCheatYet/blob/master/games.json), copied that file to the target folder, renamed it "areweanticheatyet.json", and all of the sudden everything worked. Note: I tried uninstalling and completley purging all Heroic files before a reinstall as well, but I had the same issue still. No such .json file was created during the install)...

Downloading Steam Games Stuck

So I’ve been all day trying to download this non mas os compatible steam game called “the farmer was replaced” (trying to learn code)…but whenever i try to download it on steam from heroic launcher it gets stuck at 57% whatever i try, and i mean it, ive been through trying it all. Im currently downloading from the wine manager tab the latest crossover version wine I don’t have too much faith on it tho. Would really appreciate any insight in this subject. -pd: I think what u guys are doing for the community is really cool and I’m kinda learning a lot about my systems ;)...

Joystick and axes swapped

Hi, I'm using a Logitech 3D Extreme, and all Wine/Proton games swap the axes 3 and 4, so I cannot play the game. Red Dead 1 on Epic Game Store not running

RDR2 trying to use RAM as VRAM???

Hello, I recently installed Linux Mint 22.02 on my PC (ASUS motherboard, AMD Ryzen 5 1600, GTX1060 6GB, 16GB RAM) As for the GPU driver I picked the one labeled "recommended" in LM's driver manager. 550.163.01-0ubuntu0.24.04.1 I tried importing my installation of RDR2 that I still had from Win10 (via Epic) on a separate drive, the Game was recognised but it wouldn't launch. So I uninstalled it, reinstalled it to the same folder through Heroic, it said failed to install prerequisites but after rebooting and trying again it worked and the game started up. I closed again, imported my saves, all is well. As I went to check the graphic setting I noticed that I could switch "graphic adapters" or something like that? the labels were just 0 and 1, but I noticed one of them gave me 16GB of VRAM...that doesn't sound right. Presumably it's my regular motherboard RAM?...

Overcooked 2 from Epic Games crashing right at start

Hi, I have a problem when each time I try to start Overcooked 2 from Epic Games it shows a new popup with a loading bar that start to progress and then the entire game crashes (image added), this is the log: https://0x0.st/KScV.log , I have tried changing Proton version to an older one like in another thread was commented but no luck. Rocket league Low fps

Xcom 2 can't move soldiers

As mentioned in another post [https://discord.com/channels/812703221789097985/1400490513685024870] I have the same issue. I've installed XCOM2 from GOG and it is able to start. After switch the to controller settings I've started the tutorial and can move the red cross to the position where the solider should walk. Unfortunately it is then not possible to confirm the position by pressing the A button as showed. As mentioned in another post I've tried to install the vncrun2022 but there is already showed "Installed components: vcrun2022". I decided to install the vncrun2015 because if I type vncrun in the search bar it just shows me vcrun2003 to 2019 only, so I have no Install button for the 2022 version. Anyhow, it is not possible to move the soldiers in the tutorial mission. Meanwhile I've skipped the tutorial mission to figure out if the problem is just there but unfortunately the problem persists also in the main mission....

god of war ragnarok

Hi guys!. Lets start saying that i have a copy on Epic Games of the game. I have already installed it, but when I try to launch it i got the PSPC Error: SDK Initialization. I am aware this may be a problem found in pirate copies of the game, so I am sharing the game log that Heroic gave me. Also, I tried changing the "SteamDeck = 1" but i culd't find the location of the file, the only thing I see where it is supposed to be is a Windows carpet. I hope you can help me, thanks.

Genshin not opening

Whenever I press to run the game the launcher pops-up, I installed the game no problem but when I try to hit start game it doesn't launch, I'm pretty sure I made a mistake somewhere but I'm not exactly sure where.
