"OBS didn't close properly"
Everytime when I open OBS after startup I get an error message that OBS didn't close properly last session and gives me the option to run in safe mode or run normally and it works fine after that, but I'm not sure what's causing it. Here's the log file
OBS crashing when using ffmpeg ALAC
Had a weird issue tonight where OBS kept crashing when trying to stream to YT. I couldn't figure out what was causing it, and then I noticed the log mentioned ffmpeg. I realized that I recently changed my audio encoder from ffmpeg PCM 32-bit float to ffmpeg ALAC. So I changed it back to PCM and that fixed the problem.
Any idea why ALAC would be crashing my OBS?

OBS gets stuck on "Stoping Recording"
Sometimes when I stop a recording OBS will just hang on the "Stoping Recording" and never finish. I really don´t know what could be causing this. I have a beefy PC with an RTX 4080 and my recording settings are attached in the images (srry for the spanish UI)
elgato hd60X OBS studio, it now has delay.
So this is interesting, probably about a year ago or 2 years ago I got a El Gato HD 60X capture card, plugged my camera into it and set it up on OBS and when I talked the words were think with my mouth movement so it did not require any delay
I just wiped my hard drive reinstalled Windows set everything back up and now I have to add a 250 millisecond render delay on the camera or I should say the capture card on OBS in order to get it to sync up,
What I don't understand is why I now have a delay on the capture card going into OBS when I did not before. In the past I only had a color correction filter on the camera and now I have a render delay and a color correction and I really don't understand why it would be any different....
W11 refuses to finish the 23H2 update
Hi guys. So yeah, for the second time in 6 months, W11 makes my life extremely difficult along with my workflow. Are you familiar with any fixes about this matter? I have tried all the known ones and nothing has worked so far.
Windows 11, My PC has started turning on and off almost like a mini boot loop after it wakes up
So this start happening recently and somewhat often, probably about a year ago I just replaced the motherboard and the power supply, I got a really nice ASUS motherboard and a really good Corsair 850 w power supply, I have a PNY 3080 graphics card, I'm sort of i7 and I think it's 11th generation, Corsair vengeance RAM. This is something that just started a few weeks back
So basically sometimes when the computer wakes up from sleep it kind of acts like it just keeps turning on and off and then it'll take like a minute or two before it finally boots up. Other times I wake it up from sleep and it wakes up like normal
If I look at the windows error reports it's not finding any errors after this happened so I don't think it's actually boot looping but it's doing something that seems like a little boot loop ...
YT streaming + vertical + Multi RTMP to Twitch

OBS track mattes but not in transitions?
Hai. So I'm trying to achieve something in OBS that feels like it should be straight forward, but despite trawling YouTube for how-tos and fiddling with blending modes and the Advanced Mask and Dynamic Mask filters I have a tiny walnut brain and can't figure out how to do it.
I already have a bunch of track matte stinger transitions working nicely, no problem there - but I'm now looking to incorporate the same effect (i.e a black and white video file revealing one source under another) within one scene. Particularly much longer black and white video files. Grateful for any explanations of how this can be achieved like I'm 5 years old, please and thank you....

Hello, so I recently downloaded Sonar to try and make my streams a little easier to edit afterwards after watching a YouTube video on it. It was working great last night and I planned on using it today for my stream, but wanted to make sure it was working first. It seemed to be alright but the sound from my games wasn't coming through my headphones like it should have been. If you’re getting the out of video memory error when launching Jedi Survivor, Harry Potter, and other games despite having a high end GPU, and you have a higher end 13th or 14th gen Intel CPU, you more than likely need to downclock your CPU. Despite the game saying the issue is with your VRAM, if your PC has identified an issue on some Intel 13th/14th gen CPU’s where at startup the game will display an "out of video memory" error or the crash reporter will pop up referencing an issue with decompressing a shader. If you experience this problem, you will likely also see it in other DX12 games.
If your CPU is overclocked, try setting it back to the defaults. If you’re not overclocked or that doesn’t work, try installing Intel Extreme Tuning Utility:

The windows app "apple music" (Not Itunes) will not send sound to OBS
I cannot seem to get it to work. On current OBS update. Win 10. Tried Audio capture beta, tried adding as window capture with audio beta checked, neither produce audio. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, maybe there is some sort of similar block on the app the way that streaming services block you from screenshots/screen recording?

Connecting pc to 4k tv
So when i plug my tv in it gets detected but it doesn't display; its 4k at what i thought to be 120hz but when i change the refresh rate from 60hz to 30hz in the Nvidia control panel, it displays no problem. Anyway to get a higher refresh rate to work? Maybe switch to display port? i have 3 high speed HDMIs running through 2 extenders.

SRT server settings need to reduce lag
So I got a Windows server OS VDS and set up OBS there. I tested it with 2 SRT clients and see latency from 3to4 seconds from them.
So I have some questions regarding this issue
1 do i need ffmpeg custom install or obs has it up to date and fully set up?
2 can i reduce that 4sec lag from client with some srt line arguments? on srvers side...
Running Linux OBS; PipeWire Window Capture sources always ask for permission on launch
For each source of type
Window Capture (PipeWire) I have configured in a scene collection, one of these "Share Screen" prompts pops up, asking for permission to share an application's video with OBS. Checking "Remember this selection" has no effect on this behavior.
Is there some way to automatically grant permission to share screen with OBS?
It's cumbersome to essentially re-add the window capture every time I want to record.
...4090+7950x obs settings for 1080p
I just want the more or less best settings for this the reason I ask for 1080p is because I have a 540hz monitor that only goes upto 1080p so I figure looking for settings for 4k to be somewhat useless.
Virtual Server (aka Intel VDS\VPS) for streaming events
Hello! I just wandering will it be possible to stream using VPS\VDS with intel 2+ cores CPU no GPU? So for example 1st PC with GPU will stream to twitch channel and 2nd PC (the VPS) will use that twitch channel in OBS like browser source and then stream it to channel I need. So there is no need to use my own pc all day long if I will stream all day long (like marathon runs)
GC573 Scaling Issues
Hi all. My GC573 was working in the past now ive gotten a new monitor and havent used it for a while im struggling to get it to clone my main display.
I have a 240hz 1440p ROG monitor. i know this capture card cant support it im setting my resolution to 1440p@120hz. This seems to set video in RECentral to default to 2160 , scaled desktop with 3/4 of the screen black.
Would appreciate any tips...
